My friends are getting married. The date is April 1, at the beach. I think it's problematic to know what to wear to a beach wedding. It should be easy--bathing suit. I mean it's the beach, right?
But it's the beach with a traditional wedding dress and tuxedo's for the guys. So I have to "dress up". Well, even dressed up, I want to be comfortable, and I need something new, because I'm sick of all my clothes. So there's a woman at work, she's about my size, and she always looks nice. We seem to have the same taste in clothes, so I asked where do you shop? And she took me there after work! Good thing too, cause I never would have found it.
Any way we walk in and immediately I see the exact top that I've been imagining. That never happens! So I'm all set, black dress pants(very nice, slimming, with a side zipper. We always thought a side zipper was soooo grown up back in the day), cream colored silk top with pattern of black bamboo. I want to get some of those cloth chinese round toe slippers with the embroidery to go with this outfit. I have no idea where to get those. My daughter says Magic Mall (ie: the ghetto flea market) so if I can't find it anywhere else, I guess I'll go there.
Okay, I just ordered some on internet. I am set!!
I talked to a man I work with today about him cutting my hair. He said he would do it for 25$ in his home. Seems kinda high for an in-home haircut, but he did another coworkers and she looks fabulous. I want to get it layered up, so it curls. He said he can do that. Keep your fingers crossed, I have such bad luck with haircutters.
I got some really bad news this weekend, my homeowners insurance more than doubled. It went form 1100 dollars to 2900 dollars. So my mortgage payment has gone up by 400$ per month. I know those figures don't add up, it's because the as of July05, the escrow account was 2000.00 in the hole, and now I have to pay it back, along with the current charges. I don't know what I'm going to do. With the increase in the car insurance($200 per month) because of my son being of driving age, that $600 more per month. I don't have that kind of money. So I guess my son and I both will be looking for part-time jobs to make up the short fall. The good part about that is the last time I worked two jobs I lost a ton of weight. It will only be for a year, then the fee goes down again. I want to just work my butt off and then pay it off as soon as possible.
I called my insurance agent today about it and she tells me that my insurance company is in recievership, so I have to get a new one anyway. And because this is Florida, the only place open to me is the infamous Citizens. I told her to go ahead and work up a quote for me, I seriously doubt that they could be worse than the one I have now. My ex husband has Citizens, his house is older, and bigger and he's paying less than I am, so I'm keeping a good thought about this. I think it will work out somehow.
Everytime we get a bad hurricane here, I have to find new homeowners insurance. And my town didn't even get hit!
In the meantime, no more eating out for me unless the BF is treating. And no more trips to the bookstore, that's always $100.00 at least. I'm going to take all the old books to the secondhand bookstore and sell them. It's just for store credit, but that's ok, I can get something to read. I'm going to hit the library too. And If I'm not reading so much, maybe I'll excersise. Riiiiiight, that'll happen.
